FIRST JACKET FOUNDATION INSTALLED AT 300MW OFFSHORE WIND FARM IN TAIWAN!
Shinfox Far East Energy has successfully installed the first jacket foundation for Taiwan’s ambitious 300MW offshore wind farm, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s transition toward renewable energy.
The Taipower Offshore Wind Farm Phase 2 (TPC-II) project is taking shape off the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan, and is set to strengthen the region’s clean energy capacity. This large-scale development is a crucial component of Taiwan’s broader commitment to achieving carbon neutrality and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Standing taller than a 20-story building and weighing more than ten Boeing 747 aircraft, the first jacket foundation has been firmly positioned on the seabed, paving the way for the installation of state-of-the-art wind turbines.
Shinfox emphasised the precision and engineering excellence required to transport and install these massive steel structures. The operation was carried out by the crane vessel SFE Hercules.
A Shinfox spokesperson shared their excitement over this achievement, stating:
“From design and manufacturing to transportation and installation, our dedicated team and partners worked hand in hand – riding on Hercules, we overcame challenges along the way. A huge thanks to everyone involved! Now, we’re moving full speed ahead with wind farm construction, driving Taiwan and the world toward a more sustainable future.”
