Development Manager - Senior (FTC)

Our client are looking for a Senior Development Manager on a FTC basis who will be  responsible for the successful delivery and management of all land rights, environmental and planning consents and associated stakeholder engagement across their portfolio. Whilst the focus will primarily be on projects in the development (pre-construction) phase, responsibility for these disciplines will also apply for those projects that are in construction and operations. It includes responsibility for managing the day to activities of external advisers. Responsibilities: Land, Consents & Planning Site Selection Constraints analysis and desk studies Regulatory context and Marine Spatial Planning Strategic risk assessment for construction and O&M Cable Route, Substation and Landfall Options Constraints analysis and desk studies Site visits and options appraisal Early stakeholder engagement Interaction of the above with engineering and grid connection options Property Agreements Negotiation of property, crossing & proximity agreements (onshore & offshore) for sites, cable routes and overhead lines; Secure rights of compulsory purchase; Deliver land agreements with offshore landowners such as The Crown Estate, Crown Estate Scotland Consents Applications Scope, instruct and manage all environmental survey work required to inform consenting and planning processes onshore and offshore; Coordination of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitat Regulation Assessment (HRA). Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will oversee the financial performance during the construction phase, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with budgetary goals. This role offers the chance to work closely with Project Managers and the Finance team, providing a crucial link between construction and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: - Assist Project Managers in understanding and highlighting the financial performance of their projects. - Drive the forecast and cost-to-complete process with Project Managers, ensuring any budget variances are communicated to Project Finance promptly.- Complete the FM206 process against budget variations that cannot be recouped, providing feedback to Finance and Estimating teams as necessary. - Provide detailed financial information to the Project Finance team for budget amendments and month-end management reports. - Regularly review project invoicing to ensure timely issuance of customer invoices. - Liaise with the Streetworks team to understand civil subcontractor costs and swiftly action any anomalies. Principal Assurance Engineer - Cables

As a Principal Assurance Engineer - Cables, you'll have a critical role ensuring that our operational interconnectors maintain the highest level of operational performance as well as ensuring that all our new interconnectors are developed, designed, constructed and commissioned in accordance with our standards and specifications. In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to our Warwick office and UK Interconnector sites, with occasional European travel as required. Key accountabilities Responsible for the design assurance of HVDC interconnector cable systems during project feasibility, optioneering, development, design, tender, delivery, and commissioning phases of a new HVDC interconnector. Support the development of new interconnector projects with AC and DC cable system design expertise. Ensure that the highest level of standards are maintained in respect of Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Act as the technical / engineering design interface with cable suppliers and installation contractors during the delivery phase of a project to ensure design, manufacture, testing and construction activities are in accordance with the technical specifications and Contract. Ensure that safety by design principles are embedded in Suppliers’ and Contractors’ design solutions, and that the cable system is safe to operate and maintain.
