Electrical Manager/Lead - OSS

Our client are looking for a OSS Electrical Manager/Lead who will play a critical role in the successful delivery of offshore wind substation (OSS) electrical systems. This position is responsible for managing the high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), low-voltage (LV), and SCADA scopes within the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) contract. The role requires close coordination with structural engineering, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems within the offshore wind farm.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Scope Definition & Management: Define and manage the electrical scope of work (HV/MV, LV, and SCADA) within the EPCI contract, ensuring alignment with overall project requirements and integration with structural engineering.
  • Procurement & Supplier Engagement: Lead technical aspects of tenders, supplier negotiations, and contract management, including handling variations and ensuring compliance with offshore wind industry standards.
  • Interface & Project Coordination: Oversee the coordination between electrical systems and other offshore wind farm packages (e.g., turbines, cables, onshore substations) while proactively managing technical challenges.
  • Technical Leadership & Risk Management: Drive technical contracting processes, conduct risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP), and ensure adherence to safety, grid code, and regulatory requirements.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Monitor supplier performance, ensure the quality of electrical deliverables, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Commissioning & Site Supervision: Support the commissioning of electrical systems, oversee offshore installation activities, and ensure compliance with industry standards during testing and certification.
  • Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement: Capture and document project learnings to improve the efficiency and reliability of future offshore wind projects.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in offshore wind substations, including HV/MV, LV, and SCADA systems.
  • Proven expertise in EPCI contract management, supplier negotiations, and offshore project execution.
  • Strong understanding of offshore electrical grid compliance, industry standards, and certification processes.
  • Excellent project management, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in an offshore environment, with knowledge of health and safety regulations
