Project Engineer - Cables
Seoul, Korea - Korea; Republic Of (South) Our client are looking for a Cable Project Engineer who’ll join their team in Seoul on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the Export Cable Installation Contractor performs work in accordance with the contracted scope, design, and regulatory requirements
Monitor, review, and report on installation planning, engineering works, and documentation, coordinating with external stakeholders such as Marine Warranty Surveyors and Certification Bodies
Manage internal interface coordination, ensuring compliance with permits, environmental impact assessments, marine safety regulations, and other project requirements
Oversee progress tracking, HSE, and quality compliance, ensuring work aligns with project schedules and reporting on contractor performance
Support administrative tasks, including meeting minutes, presentations, documentation tracking, and overall project coordination
Requirements
University degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, naval architecture, or comparable background
Minimum of 7 years working experience within a complex multi-disciplinary project environment, where: at least 3 of the 7 years, is related to submarine cable installation engineering and/ or submarine cable installation construction management, and at least 2 of the 7 years, is related to construction site work monitoring
Proficient in the English and Korean language (writing, speaking, listening, and reading)
Good people skills and stakeholder management
Good office and project management IT skills, and has an eye for detail
