Investment Analyst
Posted 24 days agoOur global client are recruiting for an Investment Analyst to join their London office. The successful candidate will support the assessment and execution of investment opportunities in the renewable energy sector, across a range of different technologies. This includes investments through dedicated funds focused on accelerating the global transition to net zero.
Role Overview
We are seeking an Investment Analyst to work within our Renewable Power and Transition team to identify, assess, execute, and manage new investments. Specific responsibilities include:
- Screening potential investment opportunities.
- Performing complex financial analysis and valuations.
- Conducting commercial, technical, and impact due diligence on investment candidates.
- Presenting investment, restructuring, or divestment recommendations.
- Developing strategy papers and competitive analyses on emerging sectors to support the investment decision-making process.
- While the primary focus will be on the UK and Europe, the role may involve collaboration with integrated teams across global regions.
The role provides the opportunity to play a key role in an investment team that focuses on renewable energy infrastructure, decarbonisation of industrial processes, and low-carbon solutions across the UK and Europe.
You will be responsible for conducting research and leading financial analysis, modelling, and presentations to support the development of investment strategies and identification of attractive transaction opportunities. You will also undertake due diligence across various opportunities and contribute to acquisitions, divestments, and asset management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Contributing to investment sourcing and execution.
- Assisting in targeting and evaluating new investment opportunities in clean energy, business transformations, and low-carbon solutions.
- Developing ideas for potential transactions and deal structures, conducting industry research, and evaluating new market segments.
- Building detailed financial models to assess potential transactions and company/industry performance.
- Assessing investment opportunities' potential decarbonisation impact in line with fund impact measurement and management frameworks.
- Collaborating with operating teams across the organisation for due diligence planning and execution.
- Managing projects across teams to assess greenhouse gas reduction and development opportunities in potential investments.
- Preparing investment committee materials and transaction-related documents.
- Contributing to a dynamic and team-oriented working culture that fosters personal development and positive collaboration.
- Identifying and assessing potential risks and devising appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Assisting in the preparation of high-quality investment committee and co-investor presentation materials.
- Supporting asset management activities by monitoring portfolio performance and participating in strategic initiatives and special projects as required.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, infrastructure or renewables investment management, or investment banking.
- High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications relevant to investment analysis.
- Strong financial modelling skills and experience.
- Sound understanding of investment analysis and financial principles, including:
- Accounting concepts and financial statement analysis.
- Capital structures and debt securities, including project finance.
- End-to-end deal processes.
- Various valuation techniques, such as IRRs, discounted cash flows, NPVs, and debt ratios.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional European language skills are an advantage.
- Experience in conducting research and due diligence.
- Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
