Land Transaction Manager

The LTM will be responsible for managing the external land agents who are appointed to support the projects, as well as the external property lawyers during all phases of the project including pre-construction and construction phases. The LTM will liaise closely and collaboratively with the Onshore Consent Managers and project engineers to ensure that the land acquisition work is closely aligned to the Consents and wider project requirements.

- Delivering project(s) land acquisition strategy, gaining internal approval for any changes to the land strategy where required
- Securing the required land access/legal agreements to obtain necessary rights for onshore survey and construction activities
- Securing the necessary compulsory acquisition rights as part of the DCO and working to exercise those rights where required at the construction phase.
- Participation in onshore development activities aligning with the project design and project consent for all onshore development work giving specific land acquisition advice that might affect onshore scheme definition/routing etc.
- Provide specialist input on land transaction related issues from the development perspective working in collaboration with the Senior Consents Manager, Onshore Consent Manager and project engineers for a particular offshore wind project, working towards minimising project risk.
- Working in collaboration with the agricultural liaison officer where one is required.
- Maintain the projects commercial position in relation to agreements being negotiated and minimising project risk as far as possible.
- Responsible for ongoing relationship management with landowners throughout the development phase, through construction and subsequently operations.

Requirements
Demonstrable experience of working in a major infrastructure project and management of land interests including:
- Liaising with teams across a diverse interdisciplinary landscape
- Management of landowner Relationships Management of databases to record and track Stakeholder engagement
- Compliance with the requirements of the Planning Act 2008
Skills
- A good understanding of the statutory consultation and DCO process.
- Analytical skills – ability to work to a high level of accuracy and to produce a high standard of written work
- Evidence of success in forming and maintaining working relationships in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Experience of largescale infrastructure projects and consultations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to organise work to meet deadlines
