Our client is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the offshore contractors working simultaneously on site, including management of access permits, in cooperation with our clients internal installation packages: Wind Turbine Generator (WTG), Inter Array Cable (IAC), Foundation (FOU), Offshore Substation (OSS), Interim Works (IW) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M).  
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the Construction Manager and will be based in the Marine Coordination Office in Hamburg (Germany), working alongside the Marine Coordination Team.
  • Align short-term construction works sequence with internal work packages (FOU, IAC, WTG, OSS and CM) based on the 3 day lookahead, the installation sequence and input from stakeholders.
  • Lead the 15:00 hr daily work coordination meeting to discuss safety, offshore site and asset access rights and installation and commissioning sequence. Decide on access rights and installation sequence in cooperation with Construction Management Team and Installation Managers. Produce and share comprehensive MoM from that meeting.
  • Support the Project Planner with any other necessary analysis (of the project schedule with regards to the installation and commissioning works), give input for programme optimisation and with regards to lessons learnt in the area of project planning.
  • Approve and distribute work/access permits for all locations.
  • Visualize and distribute project progress in project team reports 
  • Monitor the scheduling of vessels in the marshalling harbour
  • Monitor the scheduled crew change arrangements and address unscheduled crew change requests and port runs with contracted suppliers
  • Coordinate vessel inspections & marine assurance together with Marine Assurance team
  • Occasional vessel visits in ports (foreseen as Eemshaven (NL), Borkum (DE), Esbjerg (DK)) as coordinated within Construction Management Team
  • Be “on call” during work shift for ad-hoc operational issues, and trigger internal information loop in case of incidents and emergencies, in coordination with the Marine Coordination Team.
 
Requirements
  • High commitment to HSE. The health and safety of all parties involved in the operation must be your priority at all times.
  • Extensive experience as operations manager/works coordinator or in a similar position in an international asset project organisation, preferably within the offshore wind or offshore oil and gas industry.
  • Practical offshore installation experience is an advantage.
  • You are ready to challenge work, input or statements of others (even senior stakeholders).
  • You continuously reflect on how you as operations manager can add value to the project.
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Your command of English is strong; both verbally and written
  • Experience with VISSIM offshore management systems is an advance but not a requirement.
