Our client are a well-established Subsea Cable manufacturer (IAC, Export and HVDC Subsea Cables) based in China, who are looking to develop their local team in the UK. They are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join the UK team in the subsea cable industry, focusing on offshore renewable projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, exceptional relationship-building skills, and good knowledge of offshore energy, subsea cable or other relevant sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share targets within the subsea cable industry.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the offshore renewables sector. Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to inform sales strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, including wind farm developers / operators, EPCI contractors, and local key suppliers in the UK.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
• Manage contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and after-sales support.
• Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, project management, and procurement between UK and China team.
• Prepare detailed sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market analyses for senior management.
• Monitor sales performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed to meet objectives.
• Provide insights on client feedback to help improve products and services.

Requirements

• A degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Experience in sales or business development within the renewable industry.
• Strong understanding of offshore projects and subsea cable technologies.
• Excellent presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the UK and internationally (EU & China) as required.
• Ideally, familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, DNV & CIGRE).
