Procurement Manager - O&M Vessels

Our client is seeking a Procurement Manager in the sub-category team of O&M Vessel Procurement, to support several of their offshore Windfarms during the operational phase. O&M (Operations and Maintenance) Vessel Procurement involves several critical activities to ensure the effective and efficient maintenance and operation of the wind farm.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Determine the specific requirements for O&M JUV´s based on the wind park's location, size, and operational needs.
  • Support our clients global offshore projects with the drafting of project procurement strategies from a logistics perspective
  • Collect the technical specifications and capabilities required for the vessels, such as size, speed, cargo capacity, and onboard equipment from the technical teams
  • Identify potential suppliers and contractors who can provide suitable O&M vessels.
  • Research and understand industry standards and best practices for O&M vessel procurement.
  • Continuing to keep up to speed with market changes and needs to feed into corporate-wide strategies
  • Prepare detailed tender documents, including technical requirements, scope of work, and evaluation criteria.
  • Issue the ITT to selected suppliers, inviting them to submit their bids
  • Evaluate received bids based on technical compliance, cost, and the ability to meet the project’s timelines and quality standards.
  • Assess the financial stability, reputation, and past performance of the bidders
  • Ability to evaluate RFQ responses on a Total Cost of Ownership basis to ensure selection of the most appropriate suppliers
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with the preferred supplier(s), including pricing, delivery schedules, and service agreements. Finalize and award the contract to the selected supplier
  • Overseeing and maintaining existing long-term agreements while identifying new opportunities for potential long-term agreements
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of the vessels and ensure they meet operational goals, as well as implementing a feedback loop to continuously improve vessel operations and maintenance processes
 
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in the maritime industry, either as a developer or vessel owner, with knowledge of BIMCO contracting principles (familiarity with FIDIC and LOGIC contracting forms for offshore construction is advantageous)
  • Proven ability to effectively understand commercial risks to minimise impacts on the sites
  • Experienced in negotiating high-cost / high-risk contracts
  • Comprehensive communication skills in English, both orally and written
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required to support delivery of your package of works
  • You’re highly analytical with a strong ability to convert quantitative analysis into actionable commercial insights
  • You’re able to work effectively & show initiative in a fast-paced, global and dynamically evolving environment
  • You’re curious and willing to approach work with a fun and collaborative attitude that supports the team to make a difference in the energy transition
  • You will ideally be fluent in Italian or German; however, we still want to hear from you even if you aren’t.
