Our client is looking for a Senior Project Engineer, the role has the responsibility of supporting the Deputy Technical Manager and Functional Lead in managing the engineering and functional strategy during the development of the project to achieve a successful FID.  The role has also the responsibility of leading the multidisciplinary layout engineering.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare project reports and deliverables. Facilitate and lead regular status meetings with project team.
  • Track project progress, monitor milestones, and update Deputy Technical Manager.
  • Prepare and maintain key project design and technical documentation to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the Employer Requirements, ensuring consistency and timely delivery.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary team to identify and manage the design deliverables for each phase of the project and liaise with the document controller to ensure the documents are included in the Master Document Register
  • Ensure good communication between disciplines and manage the flow of design information within the technical team as well as coordinating with other project functions.
  • Proactively identify the needs for each engineering package and propose / implement fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and interface with all members of the JV as necessary in support of the organization’s objectives
  • Plan and prepare for the design and project reviews.
  • Keep up to date with technical developments and innovations as well as offshore wind market.
  • Ensure the use of best practices and apply lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Ensure requirements in terms of Quality and HSE are met.
  • Other reasonable duties that the project may occasionally require.
 
Specific responsibilities related to layout engineering:
  • Identify and record the layout constraints from each package in constraints register.
  • Define the layers in the GIS model and their respective weighting in collaboration with the GIS manager.
  • Conduct multiple criteria analysis.
  • Coordinate the IAC layout optimization with the Cable Package.
  • Collaborate with the Wind Analyst to safeguard the wind farm energy yield output.
 
Required experience:
  • The postholder will be a degree qualified engineer with demonstrable experience, preferably with chartered status. They will also have working experience in and knowledge of offshore wind developments.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant in industry related role
 
The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate that they have the following capabilities:
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage own workload, meet timescales and coordinate several external and internal stakeholders,
  • Experienced member of engineering teams and/or engineering consultants,
  • Ability to be responsive and open to changing circumstances
  • Be highly motivated, with a versatile personality and excellent interpersonal skills. Ready for working under pressure with pressing delivery dates.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken),
  • The technical skills to understand complex offshore operations and the ability to exchange with and understand subject experts,
  • Ability to work as a member of a large, multidisciplinary and international team,
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for report preparation
  • Experience of WindPro, Vind AI or similar software
  • Previous experience with wind farm layout engineering
