LSP Renewables have partnered with a leading IPP in the CEE renewable energy industry to recruit a PPA Originator in Romania, to originate and structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPA's) in Romania. 

Our client has been operating since 2019 and have already closed investments of more than 300 MW across Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania. As well as investing and acquiring projects, they also develop their own projects in-house. They have an impressive development pipeline (7GW+) of Onshore Wind and Solar PV assets. 

Key Responsibilities
Origination Tasks

• Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:
• Stay up-to-date with market trends, policy changes, and regulatory frameworks in Romanian renewable energy sector.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and evaluate power trading opportunities aligned with our renewable energy portfolio.

Origination and Structuring:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with renewable energy project developers, power producers, and especially off-takers.
• Originate and negotiate power purchase agreements (PPAs), green certificates, and other renewable energy trading instruments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals that optimize revenue generation and risk mitigation.
• Propose and build different PPA structures based on aggregated profiles from different technologies. Explore the utilization of storage facilities and identify optimization and income streams.
• Support the trading team in incorporating trading entities in the relevant markets.
• Originating trading and supply business in the relevant markets

Trading Execution and Risk Management:

• Execute power trading transactions, including spot, futures, and options contracts, with a focus on renewable energy assets.
• Monitor market conditions, portfolio performance, and renewable energy generation forecasts.
• Implement robust risk management practices to ensure compliance and minimize market, credit, and operational risks.

Industry Partnership Tasks

• Acquisition and analysis of potentials for commercial and industrial customers
• Analysis of customer requirements and needs
• Development and maximization of customer potentials
• Coordinating the planning and management of the development of PV systems and the Preparation of yield analyses
• Creation of concepts and offer documents
• Presentation of offers and support of potential customers until conclusion of the contract
• Negotiation and conclusion of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and contracting
• Agreements with industrial customers
• Submission of grid connection applications and coordination of the conclusion of grid access contracts
• Cooperation and coordination of external consultants and authorities
• Project management and execution until commissioning

Requirements

• Experience in energy/power trading, working closely with power purchase agreements
• Knowledge of the renewable energy market
• Strong commercial acumen - ability to negotiate and structure contracts
• Fluent in Romanian and English
