Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of the onshore substation package for Offshore Wind projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all construction activities, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution
    • Develop detailed construction plans, schedules, and budgets for the onshore substation package.
    • Oversee the execution of the construction plan, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
    • Monitor construction progress and make adjustments as necessary to address any delays or issues.
  • Site Management
    • Manage day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
    • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Safety
    • Implement and enforce quality assurance and control procedures to ensure high standards of construction.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
    • Conduct safety meetings, training, and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
    • Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
    • Address and resolve any construction-related issues or conflicts that arise.
    • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Contract Management
    • Oversee contract administration, including negotiations, compliance, and performance management.
    • Manage procurement processes and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
    • Handle change orders, variations, and claims in accordance with contract terms.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Prepare and present regular construction progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records.
    • Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping throughout the construction phase.

 
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in construction management, specifically in delivering onshore substation projects within the renewable energy or power generation sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage complex construction projects, with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in English and Mandarin
