The Project Director is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a UK Interconnector project. Alongside the Project Manager / Project Director and project team the Project Engineer will have accountability for successful project delivery including; planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/close out. You will formalise and specify an engineered delivery solution, brief out the solution to the working party and ensure it is completed through effective management and leadership. You will also managing and caring for the people delivering the works whilst monitoring compliance and to customer/project requirements, objectives and constraints; time, cost, quality and safety. Principal Assurance Engineer - Cables

As a Principal Assurance Engineer - Cables, you'll have a critical role ensuring that our operational interconnectors maintain the highest level of operational performance as well as ensuring that all our new interconnectors are developed, designed, constructed and commissioned in accordance with our standards and specifications. In this role you can enjoy our hybrid working from office and home. You'll be flexible to travelling to our Warwick office and UK Interconnector sites, with occasional European travel as required. Key accountabilities Responsible for the design assurance of HVDC interconnector cable systems during project feasibility, optioneering, development, design, tender, delivery, and commissioning phases of a new HVDC interconnector. Support the development of new interconnector projects with AC and DC cable system design expertise. Ensure that the highest level of standards are maintained in respect of Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Act as the technical / engineering design interface with cable suppliers and installation contractors during the delivery phase of a project to ensure design, manufacture, testing and construction activities are in accordance with the technical specifications and Contract. Ensure that safety by design principles are embedded in Suppliers’ and Contractors’ design solutions, and that the cable system is safe to operate and maintain.
