Public Affairs - Senior Vice President
Our client are looking for a Senior Vice President of Public Affairs to provide overall direction for and lead strategic communications, reputation management and public affairs for Global offshore wind & UK, engaging with government stakeholders and building our clients presence and brand in the UK and globally to enable successful achievement of business strategy and long term goals.The Senior Vice President will develop and execute strategy for optimising relations with regulators, partners, policy makers and other external and internal stakeholders. To act as a primary point of contact for media inquiries, oversee preparation of press releases, manage media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities Build Global Offshore Wind & UK Business And Processes
Contribute to the successful expansion of our clients footprint and growth by establishing public affairs, regulatory and communication related processes and culture that reflects corporate operations.
Support the integration of acquisitions and new business units from a communications and public affairs perspective so that there is alignment across business processes and culture.
Work in collaboration with People & Culture and legal teams to take advice and propose prompt resolution of potential issues.
Establish internal communications practices and tactics.
Develop Reputation in Global Offshore Wind & UK
Develop a strategy to establish reputation in the global market focusing on brand awareness, executive positioning and thought leadership.
Establish a proactive crisis management strategy.
Monitor potential issues and work with agencies to manage crises.
Development And Implementation Of Strategic Communications Plan
Develop & execute an effective communications strategy aligned with overall business goals and objectives
Manage relationships with media and key contacts in relevant organisations
Develop and execute strategic communications campaigns to build brand awareness and engagement.
Develop executive positioning strategies for key spokespeople.
Develop relevant budgets for activations, sponsorships and projects.
Work with the content and digital teams to ensure key messages are communicated globally across all channels.
Management and Development of Public Affairs Engagement
Develop and execute a public affairs strategy that serves the needs of Global Offshore Wind & UK identifying relevant stakeholders and building tailored engagement approaches for each
Create key documentation to support public affairs, including (but not limited to) message house, proof points, points of view, etc.
Establish positive relations with opinion leaders and stakeholders to build reputation as a dynamic pioneer in the market
Develop relevant briefing documents and talking points for key spokespeople.
Media And Stakeholder Relations
Develop, draft and edit compelling press releases to announce key corporate news to national, regional, and international media; may be on a broad range of topics, including technical and policy-related issues and matters.
Oversee relevant PR agencies and outreach partners to ensure content conveys the right messages and is in line with required standards
Work with relevant agencies to devise, write and edit op-eds, features, letters, and Q&As for longer form PR activations
Handle all incoming press office enquiries and requests, including developing reactive content as needed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local/regional media to support communications objectives
Identify media opportunities and implement campaigns around key programs and issues
Identify key stakeholders including govt policymakers and influencers across national and local levels
Build relationships with key stakeholders via direct engagement and in partnership with third-party agencies representing on industry panels and being a first point of contact
Support senior executive team in direct engagement with govt stakeholders including providing briefing materials, messaging, etc.
Management Of Stakeholders And Third-Party Service Providers
Ensure relationships with third-party providers are managed smoothly and effectively in a way that guarantees that services meet all relevant service level agreements.
As and when required by management, personally manage key relationships/negotiations with relevant internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure the agreement of favourable deals that safeguard our clients best interests while ensuring the delivery of necessary needs/goals.
Support corporate HQ and UAE stakeholders to facilitate engagement in UK market and global presence
Continuous Improvement Of Policies, Systems and Processes
Contribute to the continuous improvement and implementation of unit systems, policies, and procedures covering all areas of activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled.
Reporting To Internal Stakeholders
Ensure alignment across Corporate HQ and Offshore Wind, submitting relevant reports in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner, complying with international principles of corporate governance and shareholder requirements.
Compliance With Information Security Policies, Procedures And Requirements At All Times
Adhere to any applicable information security policies and procedures and identify and report security incidents and suspected weaknesses to the appropriate point(s) of contact.
Protect assets under care (e.g., laptops and other devices) and information/credentials against unauthorized access, sharing, and/or damage/loss in accordance with the Information Classification and Handling Procedure.
Clear desks of all sensitive material and log off/ lock workstations at the end of the day and when leaving desk for a prolonged period in accordance with Acceptable Usage Policies.
Ensure not installing, copying or modifying of any software on equipment without authorization.
Support For Quality Health And Safety Environment (QHSE) Activities, Policies, and Compliance Objectives With The Laws And Regulations
This includes participating (when requested) in QHSE audits, office inductions, incident reporting, and review of QHSE performances as applicable
Requirements
MBA or relevant Master’s degree from a top-tier internationally recognized higher education institution
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, mass communication, or a related discipline
At least 12 years of experience in strategic communications and business development in large and reputable organizations and a proven track record in the management of teams delivering content in a challenging environment or an equivalent experience
Job-Specific Skills
Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills leading to a consultative approach within a corporate/multifunctional environment
Strong understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture and strong project and people management skills
Gravitas and ability to engage at the highest levels of government and industry

Knowledge of the latest communications & marketing trends in the industry and beyond
Strong knowledge of budget management

Excellent computer literacy, with a strong background in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
