SAINT- BREIUC OFFSHORE WIND FARM INSTALLATION PHASE COMPLETE!

Iberdrola-owned Ailes Marines has announced today that Fred Olsen jack-up vessel ‘Brave Tern’ installed the last of their 8MW machines on December 17th, 2023. 
With 18 rotations of three to four turbines onboard, the work to install the 62 offshore turbines began in May 2023, in eight short months, the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Le Havre were installed on their jacket foundations. 

Iberdrola France Offshore Wind Director, Stéphane Alain Riou said "We are particularly proud of the work carried out by our teams within the time frame initially announced. Iberdrola once again demonstrates its ability to carry out a large-scale project, here in Brittany, and at the same time confirms its status as a leader in offshore wind power. Saint-Brieuc is the first French offshore wind farm and the 4th in Europe developed and built by the group.”

The commissioning of the project, which has been providing power since July 2023 with the first 20% already operational. The second 50% is scheduled to be complete by the start of 2024, reaching 100% by the end of quarter 1.
