Our client is seeking a Transmission System Commissioning Manager (Technical Lead) to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Commissioning strategy development and implementation across the OFTO assets
• Point of contact for escalation of all OFTO asset commissioning technical enquiries
• Technical support for HV System Controllers
• National Grid Commissioning Interface
• Chair to Joint/OSC and OCP Commissioning Panel Meetings
• Day to day organisation of the commissioning team working on the OFTO System
• Review MSRA, co-ordinate work activity with System Control
• Produce and optimise all Commissioning programmes, to ensure prioritisation and identification of key milestones and hold points.
• Sign off for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Commissioning of OFTO Assets
• Ensure Asset Integrity of the OFTO Network during the Commissioning phase
• Investigate and report on HV Network system events during the Commissioning phase
• Ensure accurate ‘As Built’ Drawings and Commissioning Records are kept by the Subcontractor
• Update on Progress to Commissioning Package Manager
• Incident & defect investigation

• Chair Joint Commissioning Panel Meetings
• Deliver an OFTO Asset Commissioning Strategy for review and acceptance by the Client by end Q2 2025 to align to the Contractors programme for construction & commissioning of assets

• Provide an expert resource to review & comment in respect of commissioning and system operation Grid & OFTO contractors design documentation and construction plans
• Provide an expert resource to review & comment on the OFTO contractors ITP & Identify to the Client where commissioning resources can add value to Factory Acceptance Testing
• Provide Technical support to the Client to develop the HV System Control Operational Philosophy
• Identify interfaces between the OFTO System and the Windfarm Assets and together with the Windfarm Asset Commissioning Manager develop appropriate controls & solutions for Commissioning of assets and update the OFTO Asset Commissioning Strategy as required

Requirements

• National Grid TP141
• IOSH/NEBOSH Certification
• Relevant technical education, for example a bachelor degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent
• Valid GWO certificates inc HUET
• Extensive proven experience of managing OFTO System Commissioning
• Experience of UK Grid interface management
• Experience in offshore wind project site construction, with multinational team and subcontractor workforce
• Knowledge of HVDC Transmission an advantage
• Ability to work internationally & offshore as & when required
• Strong technical leadership and management skills
• Substantial track record in leading and motivating teams of skilled engineers and/or specialists
