SOLAR DOMINATES FRENCH TENDER!

The results show that 35 of the 38 projects have been awarded to Solar developments in the French Energy Regulation Commission (CRE) tender.

500MW of energy capacity was up for grabs last October, and a total of 22 companies have been successful in securing the winning projects.
Winners include, Neoen, EDF Renewables, and Q Energy.

The tender accepted proposals for ground-mounted PV projects above 500 kW, capped at 30 MW unless located on degraded land, with optional but unsubsidized storage.
It also included rooftop PV installations, greenhouses, barns, and car parks above 500 kW in size, as well as onshore wind farms of any size with unsubsidized storage, and new hydroelectric plants above 1 MW.

Notable projects included Q Energy’s 30 MW Emorots agrivoltaic plant in Côte d’Or, Soleil Elements’ 29 MW Chevenon floating PV park in Nièvre, and Urbasolar’s 33.95 MW installation on a former military base in Meurthe-et-Moselle.

The selected projects must be commissioned within 30 months for solar installations and 36 for wind power installations.

A great success for the solar industry, and participating winners, the development of solar projects across Europe is on the rise, and this is just another milestone to add to the already booming sector.

This role will report into a Principal Procurement and Contracts Manager and lead on providing comprehensive procurement support to development and construction activities for large-scale (projects over 100MW+) solar and battery storage projects. As a key figure of the procurement team, embedded within R’s Central Technical Office Procurement Department, this is a key position in delivering end to end procurement support principally for solar and battery projects. Principle Project Engineer - Onshore Renewables

Our Client is looking for a Principle Project Engineer to join their Grid Services team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of Grid Parks with a particular focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The principle project engineer is responsible for overseeing the optimal technical design concepts at development stages building on experience gained from projects in construction and operation ensuring the projects can be delivered and commercially sound business cases can be supported. The position will work closely with the development Project Managers and provide input to the procurement and construction teams. The role is focussed within the broader Asset Management team, which is responsible for operating and managing their clean energy portfolio of projects within Europe. They are looking for a highly motivated asset manager to manage solar and storage assets and their associated SPVs, by ensuring best practice for safety, quality and environmental performance, enhancing the overall returns and value of each project and ensuring compliance with all applicable contractual agreements and regulations. The Asset Manager will be the main contact for all asset management activities carried out on the project and be fully responsible for the day-to-day management of each asset; this will involve working with a wide range of diverse cultures and business environments to provide a solid asset management function across the Renewables portfolio. The role is full time and based in Bristol, UK but will require regular national and international travel for the management of assets and contractors in Europe. As a vital team member, the successful candidate will work closely with project developers, ICPs and EPCs architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals to manage the project costs and ensure it is completed within the programme and budget. The Quantity Surveyor is essential to the venture’s success by providing expert advice on cost management, contract negotiation and procurement. Expertise will be crucial in ensuring that construction projects are profitable and financially sustainable. Objectives Preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.
